The project includes structural strengthening and complete architectural renovation of the reception building of the Svilengra railway station, so that it acquires the appearance of a modern and functional Schengen border station. The building was built in 1965 and before the renovation, most of it did not meet the current technical standards.
After the reconstruction, the building was brought into line with Bulgarian and European requirements for seismic resistance, energy efficiency and a generally accessible environment. The project was completed without interrupting the operational activities of the railway station and train traffic.
