The project represents a complete modernization of the reception building of the Pazardzhik railway station, and in its finished form the building meets all European norms and standards for a safe, comfortable and generally accessible environment.
The facility is implemented on an engineering /design and implementation/ basis and includes structural strengthening of the existing reinforced concrete structure, replacement of all types of installations, rationalizations in the architectural distribution and giving the building a new modern vision both outside and inside.
Measures have been implemented to increase energy efficiency, as well as to ensure access for people with disabilities. The project was implemented with the financial support of the European Union’s Operational Program “Transport”.
The construction works include the construction of new reinforced concrete walls, washers and columns and the complete strengthening of the old ones with a metal structure. New embankments and reinforced concrete pavements have been completed. In terms of architecture, new ticket offices, a warm waiting room, a waiting room for mothers with children, and retail areas have been built. The facade and window frames of the building have been completely replaced. New flooring and cladding have been installed on floors, walls and ceilings, and conditions for disabled access have been created. The storeroom to the reception building has been reconstructed and a pedestrian underpass connecting the station with the city district “Glavinitsa” has been rehabilitated. A new vertical layout has been built.
