The project was carried out following a general inspection of bridge structures within the National Railway Infrastructure Company’s network. The inspection revealed significant deterioration of the anti-corrosion coating on the bridge, which is part of the 4th railway line connecting Bulgaria and Romania.
To preserve the steel structure, the entire surface was cleaned by sandblasting, then primed and coated twice with alkyd paint. The works were executed without interrupting railway traffic, except for the parapets on both sides of the bridge, which were repaired during designated “electrical train windows.”
