Description:

The project was carried out under an engineering contract (design and execution) to stabilize a landslide above the road serving the Chaira Reservoir. A reinforced concrete retaining wall was constructed, anchored in two rows both horizontally and vertically into the slope. The implementation of the project has secured the reservoir area’s infrastructure and ensured the safe operation of the facility.

Details

The anchors used for securing the retaining wall are IBO R38 with lengths of 5 meters;
The drilling for the anchors was performed using lightweight drill rods, and cementation was carried out with an injection pump;
The designed structure is divided into three sections resting on a common foundation;
A drainage system was built at the base of the wall to redirect water;
The backfill consists of coarse crushed stone (Ø100 - Ø200), compacted in 50 cm layers;
A surface drainage ditch was constructed. The asphalt pavement of the road was restored, and a new elastic guardrail was installed.
